Naxos Recording with Tianwa Yang in Ludwigshafen

We recorded three of Wolfgang Rihm’s challenging yet impressive works for violin and orchestra for Naxos: The incredible soloist, Tianwa Yang, the excellent Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the recording engineer (Tonmeister) Roland Kistner, sharp-eared, yet full of humor, and the master of ceremonies, Johannes Kernmayer: A great team effort!

Another New CD…!! Music by Jacqueline Fontyn

The gorgeous music of the “Grande Dame” of Belgian music, Jacqueline Fontyn, with great soloists. The edition of Cybele Records is very generous: State-of-the Art SACD-sound, 3 CDs with Jacqueline Fontyn telling her story herself, and a 84-page booklet!

New CD! Petrassi Piano Concerto

The Piano Concerto by Goffredo Petrassi from 1939 is a dynamic, colorful work. One can detect traces of Prokofiev and Ravel, but at the same time there is a wonderful Italian flavor in the catchy melodies. For days after our recording this music stayed in my head. Petrassi himself was not happy with his work, which might explain its neglect until recently. But now one can hear that this piece deserves to be heard and to be performed!

CD Shopping in Taipei

1st “Race Against Cancer” Göttingen

1. Göttinger Lauf gegen Krebs: Several musicians of the Göttingen Symphonie Orchestra joined to participate in this wonderful benefit idea: Every finished lap of 800 meters will be matched by sponsors with 1 Euro. There was a total of 17480 laps. We were happy to be able to add to this total.
