1st “Race Against Cancer” Göttingen

1. Göttinger Lauf gegen Krebs: Several musicians of the Göttingen Symphonie Orchestra joined to participate in this wonderful benefit idea: Every finished lap of 800 meters will be matched by sponsors with 1 Euro. There was a total of 17480 laps. We were happy to be able to add to this total.

Six World Premieres in Five Months

In May I conducted the World Premiere of Mahmoud Turkmani’s “Tahawool” for orchestra at the International Handel Festival in Göttingen.
It was my sixth World Premiere in five months:
Uljas Pulkkis (Finland) “Opera!” for Saxophone Quartet And Orchestra, with the Rascher Saxophone Quartet, last December in Göttingen;
Ursula Mamlok (USA/D) Oboe Concerto, with Lucas Macias Navarro, this February in Göttingen;
Kenneth Hesketh’s Orchestration of Ravel’s Fugue and Toccata from Tombeau de Couperin in March in Göttingen;
Geoffrey Gordon’s Flute Concerto, with Carol Wincenc, in April with the Buffalo Philharmonic, and
Rudolf Kelterborn’s 5th Symphony, also in April, in Basel.

I feel privileged, and also a little bit proud :)
